Pool Openings & Closings

You can depend on us to professionally prepare your pool for the swim season.

Pool Opening:

  1. Reassembly: Clean and remove cover, reassemble pool equipment, install pool cleaner, skimmer baskets and return fittings. Install any deck equipment, such as ladders, hand rails, diving board, etc.
  2. Equipment Inspection: Check all pool equipment, including pumps, filter, heater, and timers or automation, to ensure they are in working order.
  3. Chemical Balance: Test the water chemistry and adjust the pH and alkalinity, as necessary. Shock the pool with chlorine to kill any algae or bacteria that may have grown.

When the weather turns cooler, we will winterize and cover your pool to protect it from the elements.

Pool Closing:
  1. Adjust Water Level: Lower pool water to level appropriate for your cover.
  2. Filter Cleaning: Disassemble and manually clean DE and cartridge filters.
  3. Winterization of Equipment: Drain water from the pool equipment, including pumps, filters, heaters, and plumbing lines, to prevent freezing and damage. Remove and store any detachable equipment such as ladders, hand rails, and diving boards.
  4. Winterization of Plumbing: Blow out the plumbing lines with compressed air to remove water and prevent freezing. Plug the skimmer(s) and all lines to prevent water from entering the system.
  5. Chemicals: Add appropriate winter chemicals.
  6. Pool Cover: Install and secure pool cover to protect the pool from debris, sunlight, and harsh weather conditions. Ensure that the cover is properly fitted and secured.

Both opening and closing a swimming pool require careful attention to detail and adherence to proper procedures to ensure the pool remains clean, safe, and functional throughout the year.
